When submitting bug reports or feature requests, be as specific as possible. The more information I will receive about a particular bug, the faster I can track it down and resolve it. The minimal bug report should contain version of the application used, version of the iPhone OS, model number of your iPhone, whether app was used on 3G or WiFi network, what the application log contained (summary is enough) and detailed description of the problem you have encountered. I do my best to address bugs immediately, keep in mind that Apple ha to approve all changes before they become available to you and this might take week or more.

For those having problems connecting to the default iBNCU APRS server (rotate.aprs2.net) or unable to see your GPS location, I had a similar problem. I went to www.aprs2.net and selected another server that was closest to my location and changed the default to the new server and all is working again. Hope this works for all having similar problems
KF5EGE @ 2010-09-06 16:06
Looks like the aforementioned problem is associated with selecting "Grid locator" (LOC button) as opposed to using the GPS coordinates.
Deselecting LOC eliminates the "Unsupported packet" problem.
KF5EHE @ 2010-09-06 15:55
Not sure if this is a bug or a misconfiguration on my part, but recently haven't been able to track via aprs.fi. Checked the raw packets and see the following in the log:
2010-09-06 15:25:47 UTC: KF5EHE-9>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,T2IRELAND:[EM10BO] [Unsupported packet format]
iPhone 4, iOS 4.0.2, WiFi and 3G, Version 1.7 ibcnu
Last log entry: KF5EHE-9>APRS:[EM10BN]Sent via ibcnu
G4MHJ-10 @ 2010-09-02 19:58
Just to add my bit. OS4 on the iTouch has screwed up ibcnu. I hope that there is a cure so I can connect again. It worked so well before OS4.
KB1URG @ 2010-08-31 23:57
I can connect to APRS server fine, but ibcnu doesn't seem to take my GPS position from my iPhone 3G. I'm currently using WiFi and iPhone is at version 4.0.1.

Also, when sending APRS Messages, the ToCall (the component after the initial >) has nothing to do with the destination of the message. Unless you are using Mic-E position encoding, the ToCall should be the APRS application identifier of the software/hardware creating the packet.
See http://www.aprs.org/aprs11/tocalls.txt

The APRS spec indicates that the textual content of an APRS message is limited to 67 characters. While larger messages can traverse the APRS-IS, if they are intended for RF recipients, issues can arise at the IGate or receiver if this limit is exceeded.
Case in point::
2010-08-29 15:42:57 UTC: 2W1VMR-12>2E0JXE,TCPIP*,qAC,T2BELGIUM::2E0JXE :GOOD AFTERNOON SIR DAVID AND HOW IS LIFE IN CHESTER. MY RADIO IS DUE TO ARRIVE ON WEDNESDAY BUT I STILL NEED A ANTENNA. HOW MANY CHARACTERS DID THIS TAKE... {3050
2W1VMR did this as a test for 2E0JXE at my request and confirmed that the message originated from IBCNU.
I thought you might like to know before anyone complains that "I can't send a message to xxxxx" and you can't figure out why.

I uppdated my iPhone 3G some time ago and now it seems I can not get contact with the built-in GPS. The symbol is always pale grey.
What to do?

Hi there, same as the other query I believe. I was wondering if it's possible to get this running in the background for iOS 4?
Thanks, 73. M3CGC

@PA0MID: Afaik there is no "Sign Up" needed for usage. Install, set the parameters and use it...
KI6TFI @ 2010-08-16 01:10
This application does not function properly with multitasking in iOS4. Is an update planned to correct this issue? This software is fantastic, otherwise.
PA0MID @ 2010-08-12 12:45
After installing the app I try to sign up.
It asks for a capcha code but that is not shown on my iphone. So it's not possible to sign in at the map screen.
Thanks, Jan PA0MID

This ibcnu again funktionirt about Wirelesslan
