When submitting bug reports or feature requests, be as specific as possible. The more information I will receive about a particular bug, the faster I can track it down and resolve it. The minimal bug report should contain version of the application used, version of the iPhone OS, model number of your iPhone, whether app was used on 3G or WiFi network, what the application log contained (summary is enough) and detailed description of the problem you have encountered. I do my best to address bugs immediately, keep in mind that Apple ha to approve all changes before they become available to you and this might take week or more.

When trying to "Sign Up", I keep getting "Connection Problem, try again later". I'm using latest version of iphone OS, 3GS phone, and wi-fi connect.

    How about app for blackberrys

    Some answers:

1a) Erase the App from your iPhone, sync with iTunes and buy it again (you will not charged again).
    1b) Ask for default-settings here!
2a) Try with your official callsign again and check afterwards on homepage www.ibcnu.us/[callsign]
2b) If it works with normal reception: try to check your firewall.
    3) I still collect the unanswered questions, hi!
  • GOLEW-8 @ 2010-03-08 12:20
    Three questions please:

    1. Can I reset to defaults, if so how?

    2) Using a wifi link I can track myself on APRS, but can't see my position on the ibcnu live feed even though loc disabled.

    3) Is there more user info 'for dummies' available?

    Thanks

Of course, for each "ping" you have to pay 10$ ... if you have a Prepaid-solution which bill you 10$ for each ping! If you have another Price-Plan or a Flatrate you know how much costs you have to estimate for the usage of this App. Or with other words: YES, THIS APP GENERATES DATATRAFFIC! HOW MUCH? DEPENDS ON YOUR SETTINGS, HOW OFTEN YOU SEND YOUR POSITION AND HOW OFTEN YOU CKECK THE MAP. But also the station list will generate Datatraffic, more than you may expect... reduce it by setting range filter to 1.
Calculate for each position-transmission with approx. 100 bytes you send out. If you send each minute one position-report you have to calculate with approx. 7200 bytes overall within 30 minutes.

I don't know who posted the comment at 11.12 but it was not me ! What I would like to know is does the app work alongside the normal iphone when it sends out location data in conjunction with the mapping locator service. Am I charged some sort of rate each time I press the "Transmit Beacon Dat Now" button.
  • GOLEW-8 @ 2010-03-07 11:12
Sorry did'nt understand your 'joking' comment. A simple yes or no will do. It's important to know if you cross international borders as phone tariffs change dramatically. Is this tracking chargeable or not? pretty please!
  • CORRECTOR @ 2010-03-07 10:57
@GOLEW-8: You must be joking!!! Check your priceplan and/or flatrate!
  • GOLEW-8 @ 2010-03-07 10:01
Does using the app involve using up my tarrif of minutes on my iphone ?

IE Do I have to pay each time it sends out a ping etc ?

Thanks. I disabled LOC and that did the trick. Great product.
  • @ VK2HIM @ 2010-03-05 01:52
Thanks for the help, but that didn't work, either... I'm still trying other settings.

@WA4HRK ... In UiView32 I think you need to use the digi path of I for you to receive? This will gate the message immediately from uiview to the internet? You can see from the iBCNU path that TCPIP was the path used, so selecting I as the digi path matches. Cheers
  • WA4HRK-10 @ 2010-03-04 19:55
I love the product, but when I send a msg (using IBCNU iphone ver1.7) to another ham user who is using uiview32, he gets it fine, be we have NO IDEA what to put in the digi path to return the message?? He's logged into the EAST US FEED at tennessee.aprs2.net and the path in the message from IBCNU is "TCPIP*,qAC,T2IAD" which we've tried several combinations of with no success. Any ideas? thanks!

    My suggestions:
    1) station details: in Map view, pushing a station icon to view station details;
    2) stations icon: in Station List view, the station icon would be nice if represent the real icon (and not the same icon for all the stations)
  • CORRECTOR @ 2010-02-28 10:29
@N8CNZ: Disable "LOC" and try again. LOC will send only Locator which not all APRS-Sites can handle (i.e. aprs.fi). Try to see you data and location on www.ibcnu.us/n8cnz.

Having difficulty. I can see in the log that iPhone is doing ping with APRS but can never see myself on the map. Can someone advise?
